In 2023, Carla and Valentin, lovers of scented candles, question the vagueness of the compositions and the logic of everything being disposable.

Along the coasts of La Rochelle, another observation is necessary: ​​oyster shells, although abundant, rarely find a second life and too often end up buried.

From this realization, an idea was born: to reveal the beauty of forgotten materials.

The first experiments took shape in pots fashioned from recycled shells, before paving the way for other discarded materials. Each test fueled a common desire: to create differently, to create sustainably.

This approach naturally leads to wax refills, designed to extend the life of the product and place the candle within a virtuous cycle. A simple and elegant way to consume more responsibly.

The mission becomes clear: rethink today's candle to imagine tomorrow's.

From this was born Aglaé.

At Aglaé, matter is not a simple component but the starting point of a committed philosophy.
At the heart of our DNA lies a deep conviction: Where industry sees the end of a cycle, we see an opportunity for repurposing. Upcycling materials such as bottle glass, foundry sand, or oyster shells is a form of modern alchemy. Our mission is to divert this waste from their initial destiny to transform them into unique and durable decorative objects .

By prioritizing reuse and French artisanal production, we are not seeking the smooth perfection of mass production. We celebrate the roughness of raw materials : each pot displays variations in texture and color that testify to its natural origin.

Revaluing these fragments makes the circular economy an act of creation.
